Fashion For This Year 2010

January 2010 is the month for yearly predictions in the fashion world - what will be hot, what will make a comeback and what will be shelved. Fashion predictions are about taking one step ahead of the rest of the flock, and by that one step, you stand out from the rest. Already, this 2010 many designers are poised to launch their designs by tying up with already known brands.

Daphne Guinness, the socialite will be designing bags using horse hair for the company Akris. The Ai bag and the Amata clutch which are both made from horse hair are set to define the fashion trend for bags for 2010. Designer John Galliano will branch out for men’s wear, designing urban-slash-sportswear but casual pieces of clothing knits and tops, jackets and bottom jeans, plus accessories to match. He will be working with Ittierre who owns Cavalli. Denims will still be in, and shall continue to make waves in 2010. Dior Homme Jeans, Hudson Jeans, and Victoria Beckham Denim are each launching their denim collections for the year. Meanwhile, designer Vivienne Westwood has linked with urban denim company Lee Jeans to create funky, punky pants for denim lovers.

Jil Sander is set to launch her own line of watches and jewelry in the early part of 2010, while Stella McCartney in collaboration with Morissey, will be designing shoes but this time they will not be made from leather. Dubbed as vegetarian shoes, McCartney’s shoe designs will probably set the trend for going green, fashion-wise. Sonia Rykiel’s smashing sexy lingerie designs for H&M, will stay on the company and create knitwear for women, with seductive and playful accessories to match.

Zac Posen, upcoming young designer from the Unites States, will be recruited to design for Target’s sister company, Go International. On the other hand, Target has tapped Jean Paul Gaultier to design signature piece items for the company. Jil Sander’s +J collection will be made available early this year in stores all over the United Kingdom, United States and France. On the other hand, Harry Potter celebrity Emma Watson will work with People Tree to stylized and design a clothing line collection, that also increase people’s awareness sof environmental issues. Finally, Tsumori Chisato, a fashion designer native in Japan will be designing a kids’ collection for the French company Petit Bateau.

The time when Armani and having used Armani formerly dominates the wants and musts of fashion statements, new designers who are both creative and innovative will emerge in 2010 in order to turn the fashion industry and its public influence upside down.
