How To Select The Right Sports Bra For You

We don't always know what exactly to look for when purchasing a sports bra. Being comfortable and protected is our number one goal, however this is not always an easy task to achieve when we can't really test out the undergarment we are purchasing.  There are several things you should consider when purchasing your athletic bras, and we will cover a few of the most important points when choosing one for running or other athletic activities.

First thing to look at is the material the bra is made of. When running or when we are involved in other athletic pursuits, we will sweat. Ventilation is key for the evaporation and drainage of our sweat. If we do not a material that breathes and does not supply adequate ventilation, then we can overheat. This will result in quite a painful experience! Always look for a dry weave material as it will greatly aide ventilation and cooling.

When engaging in strenuous athletic activities, support is also very important. Finding the right balance is key.  You don't want to have a bra be too loose and lead to you bouncing too much.  Also, you don't want it too tight and constricting you. For more support look for wider shoulder straps, or one with a criss cross in the back. Don't underestimate support when it comes to athletic bras!

Don't hesitate to try on multiple brands and styles until you find the perfect fit. Just like shoes, jeans, and just about everything else, sports bras made by different manufacturers definitely feel different to each of us. Aim for comfort and functionality over style.

Ultimately you should select the bra that fits and feels best to you. Find the bra with the best support and let this be your guiding decision. Remember comfort over fashion!

I wish I had breast cancer, and could cut them!

I strongly agree with you and I am a man. To me, breasts are not just two big fat things. I do not really see the signifagance chest.
