It can be difficult coming up with gift ideas for friends and family, especially when you want your gifts to be special and meaningful, not just something chosen quickly, with little imagination or thought.

A similar idea is old or rare annuals and magazines or posters relating to the team or player you’re looking for.

These types of things might have been used to advertise events and appearances in the past and over the years they become collectable. These make excellent gifts because, as with autographs, it’s something a little different and it’s personal to a particular team.

If you’re lucky enough to hear about it before hand, a perfect gift can be to take your friend along to a signing or other personal appearance by a sports star.
