The first thing that may come to your mind when you hear made-to-measure dress shirts or custom dress shirts is that they will be significantly more expensive than a standard ready-to-wear dress shirt and in most cases this is true. One alternative to overcoming the price of those expensive made-to-measure dress shirts is to buy a standard sized dress shirt that fits you somewhat well and take it to a tailor to improve the fit a little bit more. Now although this is a very reasonable option, the shirt won’t fit nearly as well as a made-to-measure shirt and you won’t have the options of changing certain components of the dress shirt such as the collar or cuff.

Don’t hesitate to look for made to measure shirts online because you’re unsure on how to take the measurements. These sites usually have a detailed guide on how to properly take the measurements.
